The El Ayudante Clinic
was inaugurated and dedicated on May 12, 2008. To support the grand event, Shenandoah University’s medical team combined with Ministry of Health and El Ayudante medical staff to see 750 patients. The ceremony to dedicate the clinic in memory of Dr. Ocampos, who devoted her life to serving her community in a manner worthy of recognition and emulation, was attended by national and city leaders and the Ocampos Family.
The El Ayudante Clinic has served thousands since its opening. Ministry of Health (MINSA) Doctors staff the clinic, providing general practitioner services daily. A Ministry of Health OB/GYN conducts ultrasounds two days a week for women with at-risk pregnancies who cannot afford care in the private sector. All services and medicines are free.
El Ayudante provides funding for maintenance and utilities while our medical mission teams support the clinic by serving in the clinic and providing basic and gynecologic medicines. |
